Preseparators

Before contaminated air enters the primary dust collector, a pre-separator may be installed to remove sparks, hot particles, or coarse material from the airstream. Pre-separators reduce the loading on the dust collector, improve filtration efficiency, extend filter life, and, in many applications, provide an additional layer of fire protection. The most common types include spark arrestors, spark coolers, and cyclone separators.
